Reblogged from Crumpled Paper:
Philippines is not in a good state this past few days. The constant downpour of rain in the capital and nearby places made rivers, watersheds and other bodies of water overflow. Thus making those places submerged in flood. Vivid scenes of a typhoon a few years back flashed unto me. And those horrors seem to be on repeat.
But calamities like these brings out the worst and best in every Filipino.
Been wanting to write about the current calamity that has befallen my beloved country, but not being there to experience it this time, I'm at a loss. This fellow Filipino blogger has painted a perfect picture for me, and more.
Please find the time to read through her post, see the devastation but also the light hearted Filipinos who could still smile and find beauty in the madness.

Thank you for the reblog. This is my first so I’m a bit overwhelmed. You are still with us, just a thousand miles away, and a Filipino’s smile cannot just only survive through calamities, but can also defy distance.
