A Eulogy

Not everybody may comprehend the pain of losing a pet, much less the total anguish that Jerjer has left on you. But for us, the closest thing that we get to an offspring are our precious dogs who mean the world to us, we understand… We may not fully fathom the intensity of the agony, or even imagine what you are going though, but we understand… we understand the emptiness of her absence; we understand the heartache of losing your baby, and most importantly, we understand your need to grieve.

Jerjer was a princess, but more than just her existence, it’s what she has brought to her nanay and tatay that made her so precious. She has total control over her parents, like pushing a button she can make them smile or swoon. The little things she does makes them proud. And the way she has made them love her more and more with each day she has given them her unconditional love and loyalty, is more than anything or anyone can equal in the hearts of those she has left behind.

So go ahead and grieve your loss, my dear cousin, but let us grieve with you. Allow us to share your misery and sorrow. Let us remember Jerjer’s memories together. Permit us to carry some of your burden.

I know we could never replace Jerjer, but we’re here for your and we love you…

When you are sorrowful look again in your heart, and you shall see that in truth you are weeping for that which has been your delight.  ~Kahlil Gibran
